WAIT UPON THE LORD AND HE WILL BRING IT TO PASS by Stephen Hanson
'And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.' (Galatians 6:9).
In the mean time, ˜Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. (Psalm 27:14).
God's timing is perfect. He is never early or late, but is always on time. Many of us have waited and waited and waited, for certain promises to be fulfilled in your lives. Some have been given prophetic words that they know to be true, but they have yet to be fulfilled. Don't give up, but know that His timing is perfect in every way. He knows what is best and He has lined up circumstances and people like puzzle pieces that need to fit together in a certain pattern.
When you know that beyond a shadow of a doubt what God has told you, or through another, then hold onto that assurance. Fight the good fight and wage war in accordance with the truth of the words that you know to be true. Know also that the enemy will come and will attempt to steal what you know to be true. He will try and plant seeds of doubt in your heart. But stand your ground knowing that the enemy will flee as you continue to wage war and fight the good fight with the words you have been promised.
This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight, I Tim. 1:18
Things don't happen quickly with God. It takes time to grow an oak tree from an acorn. And in order for His promises to be fulfilled in us, we must have the stature to hold what is to be given to us. God makes the man before He makes the ministry. What point would there be in going to Pharaoh if one didn't trust the One who sent you?
He wants to see if we can be entrusted with small things before He can enlarge them. Those things that have seemingly started out small will grow with each step of faith and obedience.
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth. Zechariah 4:10
We know of the story of Abraham and Sarah and how God told Sarah that she would conceive and have a son. They were impatient however, and Sarah decided that Abraham should sleep with their servant Hagar.
Genesis 16:1-6. ˜Sarah, Abraham's wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her slave-girl, and gave her to her husband Abram as a wife. He went in to Hagar, and she conceived; and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked with contempt on her mistress."
Let's not be like Abraham who produced an Ismael. Wait upon the Lord for the right timing. Surely, it will come to pass and Isaac will come forth.
Wait on God's divine timing. Know today that God can always be trusted. As long as you live in accordance with the Word of God, know that God will do all that He promised to do for you, in his perfect time and way.
