Mysterious radioactive material enriched with uranium found over Alaska; scientists scramble to determine origin
(Natural News) Alaska’s famous Northern Lights have received a new and menacing visitor, reported The Daily Mail. Floating high above the Aleutian Islands are radioactive particles contaminated by two different forms of uranium isotopes. Their exact origins have yet to be determined by the U.S. study that accidentally discovered their presence.
The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported that the mysterious particles appeared in the upper troposphere more than four miles (seven kilometers) above Alaska. One of NASA’s WB-57 high-altitude research aircraft made the discovery and took a sample.
Most of the particle is comprised of the typical by-products from burning heavy fuel oil. However, it also shows traces of enriched uranium oxide with uranium-235 and uranium-238.
Uranium is the densest element that occurs in nature. It usually appears as the isotope uranium-238, which is only slightly radioactive and is rare to find that high up in the atmosphere.
Uranium-235, on the other hand, is even rarer to find in nature. This far more radioactive isotope is more commonly manufactured as the fissile material for nuclear fuel and atomic warheads. The mystery particle was found by accident
What makes this discovery very unusual is the fact that NOAA airborne atmospheric research aircraft has never encountered atmospheric samples rich in both U-235 and U-238 during 20 years of operations. In fact, the team wasn’t looking for radioactive particlesin the first place.
“The purpose of the field campaign was to obtain some of the first global cross-sections of the concentration of trace gases and of dust, smoke, and other particles in the remote troposphere over the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans,” explained the researchers who authored the scientific study.
Study leader Dan Murphy is in charge of high-altitude scientific flights that ply the skies around the world for signs of aerosols formed by dust, fires, and pollution. He and his NOAA co-workers are atmospheric chemists who study how large amounts of tiny particulate matter in the air can affect the composition of clouds and the weather itself.
“It’s not a significant amount of radioactive debris by itself,” he said during an interview with Gizmodo. “But it’s the implication that there’s some very small source of uranium that we don’t understand.”
From what he and his team could determine, the U-235 and U-238 isotopes that formed the uranium oxide had to be man-made.
“Aerosol particles containing uranium enriched in uranium-235 are definitely not from a natural source,” Mr. Murphy explained in the paper itself.
The NOAA study further theorizes that the uranium oxide came from recently-made reactor-grade fuel destined for a fission power plant. The newness and freshness of the material ruled out major nuclear disasters like Chernobyl, Fukushima, or Three Mile Island that took place years or decades ago.
They are looking at China, Japan, or the Korea peninsula as the source of the radioactive parts of the strange particle. All three regions have active nuclear power plants and the prevailing weather patterns could carry the particle to Alaska.
“Analysis of wind trajectories and particle dispersion model results show that the particle could have originated from a variety of areas across Asia,” they wrote in their report.
The study was published in the Journal of Environmental Radioactivity. Mr. Murphy and the rest of the NOAA team are hoping to collaborate with a recognized authority on uranium so that they could determine how the particle was formed and where it could have come from.

World War 3 Could Start This Month: 350,000 Soldiers In Saudi Arabia Stand Ready To Invade Syria by Michael Snyder
350,000 soldiers, 20,000 tanks, 2,450 warplanes and 460 military helicopters are massing in northern Saudi Arabia for a military exercise that is being called “Northern Thunder”. According to the official announcement, forces are being contributed by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Sudan, Kuwait, Morocco, Pakistan, Tunisia, Oman, Qatar, Malaysia and several other nations. This exercise will reportedly last for 18 days, and during that time the airspace over northern Saudi Arabia will be closed to air traffic. This will be the largest military exercise in the history of the region, and it comes amid rumors that Saudi Arabia and Turkey are preparing for a massive ground invasion of Syria.
If you were going to gather forces for an invasion, this is precisely how you would do it. Governments never come out and publicly admit that forces are moving into position for an invasion ahead of time, so “military exercises” are a common excuse that gets used for this sort of thing.
If these exercises are actually being used as an excuse to mass forces near the northern Saudi border, then we should expect an invasion to begin within the next couple of weeks. If it happens, we should expect to see the Saudi coalition storm through western Iraq and into Syria from the south, and it is likely that Turkey will come in from the north.
The goal would be to take out the Assad regime before Russia, Iran and Hezbollah could react. For the past couple of years, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and their allieshave been funding the Sunni insurgency in Syria, and they were counting on those insurgents to be able to take down the Assad regime by themselves.
You see, the truth is that ISIS was never supposed to lose in Syria. Saudi Arabia and her allies have been funneling massive amounts of money to ISIS, andhundreds of millions of dollars of ISIS oil has been shipped into Turkey where it is sold to the rest of the world.
The major Sunni nations wanted ISIS and the other Sunni insurgent groups to take down Assad. In the aftermath, Saudi Arabia and her allies intended to transform Syria into a full-blown Sunni nation.
But then Russia, Iran and Hezbollah stepped forward to assist the Assad regime. Russian air support completely turned the tide of the war, and now the Sunni insurgents are on the brink of losing.
Aleppo was once the largest city in Syria, and Sunni insurgents have controlled it since 2012. But now relentless Russian airstrikes have made it possible for Syrian, Iranian and Hezbollah ground forces to surround the city, and it is about to fall back into the hands of the Syrian government.
If this happens, the war will essentially be over.
Saudi Arabia, Turkey and their allies have invested massive amounts of time, money and effort into overthrowing Assad, and they aren’t about to walk away now.
If the war was to end right at this moment, a weakened Assad regime would remain in power, and Iran and Hezbollah would be the dominant powers in the country for years to come. And once Assad died, it would be inevitable that Iran and Hezbollah would attempt to transform Syria into a full-blown Shiite nation. This is something that Saudi Arabia and Turkey want to avoid at all costs.
So they are actually considering what was once absolutely unthinkable – a massive ground invasion of Syria.
But if Saudi Arabia, Turkey and their allies go in, they run the risk of a full-blown war with Russia, Iran and Hezbollah. Just consider some of the comments that we have seen in recent days…
Reacting to a potential troop deployment, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem said Saturday, “Let no one think they can attack Syria or violate its sovereignty because I assure you any aggressor will return to their country in a wooden coffin.”Pavel Krasheninnikov, a deputy of Russia’s State Duma, has warned Saudi Arabia that any military ground operation in Syria without Damascus’ consent would amount to a declaration of war, Press TV reported.
We could literally be looking at the spark that sets off World War 3. I can’t believe that Saudi Arabia and Turkey are actually considering this.
And if it does happen, you can rest assured that Barack Obama gave them the green light to go in.
Unfortunately, it sounds like the decision may have already been made. Just consider what Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu is saying…
“If we have such a strategy, then Turkey and Saudi Arabia may launch a ground operation,” he added, fueling concerns that a foreign troop invasion may soon further complicate the already turbulent situation in the war-torn country.Earlier, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE voiced their readiness to contribute troops for a ground operation in Syria on the condition that the US would lead the intervention. Damascus and its key regional ally, Iran, warned that such a foreign force would face strong resistance.
And in addition to all of the forces massing in northern Saudi Arabia, the London Independent is reporting that the Saudis have sent troops and aircraft to a military base in Turkey…
Saudi Arabia is sending troops and fighter jets to Turkey’s Incirlik military base ahead of a possible ground invasion of Syria.The Turkish foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, confirmed the deployment in a statement to the Yeni Şafak newspaper on Saturday, days before a temporary ceasefire is due to come into force.
There are reports that Saudi officials are saying that the decision to send in ground troops is “irreversible”, and Reuters is reporting that the Syrian government claims that some Turkish troops have already entered the country…
The Syrian government says Turkish forces were believed to be among 100 gunmen it said entered Syria on Saturday accompanied by 12 pick-up trucks mounted with heavy machine guns, in an ongoing supply operation to insurgents fighting Damascus.“The operation of supplying ammunition and weapons is continuing via the Bab al-Salama crossing to the Syrian area of Azaz,” the Syrian foreign ministry said in a letter to the U.N. Security Council published by state news agency SANA.
Of course the Turkish government is not going to confirm that report, but what we do know is that Turkey is shelling Kurdish forces on the Syrian side of the border. The funny thing is that these Kurdish forces are actually being supported and supplied by the U.S. government.
So the Turks are not supposed to be doing this, but according to Reuters they have been doing it for two days in a row anyway…
The Turkish army shelled positions held by Kurdish-backed militia in northern Syria for a second day on Sunday, killing two fighters, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group said.Turkey on Saturday demanded the powerful Syrian Kurdish YPG militia withdraw from areas that it had captured in the northern Aleppo region in recent days from insurgents in Syria, including the Menagh air base. The shelling has targeted those areas.
The hostility between Turkey and the Kurds goes back a long, long way. The Syrian Kurds are not threatening Turkey in any way right now, but Turkey is using the instability in the region as an excuse to lob artillery shells at a hated enemy. It is an act of naked aggression that the Obama administration should be loudly denouncing.
In addition, it is being reported that Syrian government forces have also been getting shelled by the Turkish military…
Anatolia news agency reported that the Turkish military hit Syrian government forces on Saturday, adding that the shelling had been in response to fire inflicted on a Turkish military guard post in Turkey’s southern Hatay region.Turkish artillery targeted Syrian forces again late on Saturday, according to a military source quoted by RIA Novosti. The attack targeted the town of Deir Jamal in the Aleppo Governorate.
Needless to say, the Russians are quite alarmed by all of this.
In fact, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is warning about what could happen if things spiral out of control…
In the wake of Saudi Arabia’s proposal to send in ground troops on Thursday, the Russian Prime Minister claimed the move could spark a new world war.“A ground operation draws everyone taking part in it into a war,” he told the Handelsblatt newspaper.“The Americans and our Arab partners must consider whether or not they want a permanent war.”
If Saudi Arabia, Turkey and their allies launch an invasion and make a mad dash to take out the Assad regime in Damascus, the Russians will inevitably respond.
And if tactical nuclear weapons are necessary to keep the invading forces out of Damascus, the Russians will not be shy about using them.
I don’t know if I have ever seen a scenario which was more likely to initiate World War 3 than the one that we are watching unfold right now.
So what has the mainstream media been saying about all of this?
Incredibly, they have been almost entirely silent. When he went looking for news about these events, James Bailey could find almost nothing on either Fox News or CNN…
I just visited the home page for Foxnews.com and found not one single mention of the insane events now unfolding in the Middle East. I could not believe it, so I used my Find tool to search for Syria and Saudi Arabia. Not one mention!Of course that could change at any moment, but nothing there when I checked. Their stories were all about the meaningless Presidential election, which has already been decided regardless of what we think about it, and other stories about entertainment, sports, Congressional political theater, etc.So I went to CNN and found just about the same thing with one news story about the Syrian cease fire, but when I read it there was no mention of any of the big events that have developed this week. This is truly an amazing media blackout!
But Fox News does have space to run headlines like these…
And CNN apparently thinks that these news stories are more important than the potential beginning of World War 3…
If Saudi Arabia, Turkey and their allies are going to conduct an invasion of Syria, the most likely time for this to happen will be by the end of this month during these military exercises.
If we can get to March 1st and no invasion has happened yet, perhaps we can breathe a little sigh of relief.
But if it does happen, and the Russians and the Iranians decide to shoot back, it really could be the start of World War 3.
If you have not been paying attention up until now, you need to start, because this could literally change everything.

Mercury exposure linked to homosexuality: Contaminated birds exhibit unusual same-sex behavior
(NaturalNews) An international duo of scientists may have uncovered a causative factor in homosexuality: mercury poisoning. Publishing their findings in the peer-reviewed journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B, the team from the University of Florida and the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka observed that white ibises birds exposed to mercury tend towards unusual same-sex behavior not evident among their non-exposed counterparts.
White ibises, a prominent feature of the Florida Everglades, feed from waters where mercury contamination is heavy. This is the direct result of many decades' worth of contamination from industrial pollution. These birds are regularly exposed to mercury through their meals, and it seems that this mercury exposure is leading to a phenomenon that's changing the way they pair up, live their lives and even mate.
These "male-male pairs did everything that a heterosexual pair would do," stated Peter Frederick, one of the study's leads and a wildlife ecologist from the University of Florida in Gainesville, to National Geographic. "They built their nest, copulated together, stayed together on a nest for a month, even though there were no eggs — they did the whole nine yards."
Mercury exposure made ibises either gay or unable to reproduce at a healthy rate
For their research, Frederick and his colleague Nilmini Jayasena divided 160 young captive white ibises into four groups with equal numbers of both males and females. Three of the groups were designated as mercury groups, and were fed either low, medium or high amounts of mercury via their feed beginning at around 90 days of age. The fourth group, designated as the control, was fed a mercury-free diet.By the time the birds reached one year of age, Frederick and Jayasena noted that homosexual pairing had increased in all three of the mercury groups compared to the control group. Consequently, reproduction rates in the mercury groups also dropped by between 13 and 15 percent, according to the study, while mating and reproduction rates remained stable in the control group.
Not all of the exposed ibises participated in homosexual pairing. Of the ibises that engaged in heterosexual pairing in the mercury groups, the females reportedly birthed 35 percent fewer babies, implicating mercury as a reproduction inhibitor.
"Mercury is a known endocrine disruptor — a substance that mimics or blocks the production of natural estrogen," writes Christine Dell'Amore for National Geographic News. "In this case, exposed male birds' bodies produced more estrogen than testosterone as compared with control birds."

Is the mercury in vaccines affecting human hormones?
Due to the controversial nature of these disturbing findings, the study's authors were quick to denounce any extrapolation in humans. It would be politically incorrect, after all, to suggest that homosexuality in humans might possibly be linked to chemical exposures that alter natural hormone production and expression, particularly in males.But mercury is a known endocrine disruptor, and Frederick did admit to National Geographic that exposure to it during early development may have lasting consequences on endocrine function. If the same effects occur in humans, in other words, this would mean that childhood vaccines containing mercury are just as detrimental to human babies and toddlers as mercury in contaminated food is to ibises living in the Florida Everglades.
"Although there are large differences in susceptibility among species, studies of aquatic birds suggest that MeHg (mercury) exposure at environmentally relevant levels can alter breeding propensity and reproductive success, depression of egg-laying and hatching success, increased incidence of developmental abnormalities and altered parental and chick behaviour," the authors wrote.
"Exposure to MeHg in vertebrates results in neurotoxicity, embryotoxicity, impaired physiological function, endocrine disruption and altered reproductive behaviour."
CDC pushes mercury-laced vaccines on pregnant women, even though effects are unknown
Even the most industry-entrenched physicians and scientists would agree that mercury is toxic to humans. Italian scientist and journalist Gian Paolo Vanoli, 70, seems to think so. He told VICE Italy's Matteo Lenardon back in 2013 that mercury and other toxic vaccine components directly alter childhood development. He says vaccines inhibit a child from forming his natural personality, activating a "microform" of autism that leaves a child chemically lobotomized.
"The vaccine is introduced into the child, the child then grows and tries to find its own personality, and if this is inhibited by mercury or other substances present in the vaccine which enter the brain, the child becomes gay," he's quoted as saying.

Leading Israeli Rabbi Says the Arrival of the Messiah is Imminent

Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, a leading authority in mainstream Ultra-Orthodox Judaism, has been giving clear and unequivocal messages recently that the coming of the Messiah is imminent. He is urging Jews to make Aliyah as soon as possible. Aliyah, the Hebrew verb for “going up”, refers to immigrating to Israel, which is seen as higher spiritual action that can help herald in the coming of the Messiah.
It was reported that the Rabbi Kanievsky was presented with a pamphlet, written by Rabbi Yitzchak Ben Tzvi from the city of Bnei Brak, dealing with the End of Days and many other related prophecies. Rabbi Kanievsky, who is a pillar of the Jewish community and known for his authoritative books on Torah law, read the pamphlet carefully. After a short consideration, he told those around him that the pamphlet needed to be distributed and that Jews living outside Israel should return to their ancestral land.
In yet another instance of Rabbi Kanievsky’s call for aliyah, author Rabbi Yekutiel Fisch revealed advice that was given to his cousin, a teacher at a prominent Lakewood Yeshiva who visited Israel recently and went to Rabbi Kanievsky to receive a blessing at the end of his visit.
The Rabbi told him that he should not leave Israel because the Messiah would be arriving very soon. The teacher responded that he had 700 students waiting for him in Lakewood. Rabbi Kanievsky told him that he must bring all of the students to Israel. Upon his arrival in Lakewood, the story spread quickly, creating quite an impression on the students who all revere Rabbi Kanievsky.
After a lifetime of immersing himself in classical Jewish texts, Rabbi Kanievsky’s study partner informed various media sites that the Rabbi is talking about the messiah “all the time.” Since last summer’s war in Gaza, the Rabbi has been spreading this message of imminent return. In one instance, Rabbi Kanievsky instructed a Jew from Argentina who asked for a blessing that he should “gather your family and come to Israel. Otherwise, there won’t be enough room for you on the airplanes.”
When asked about the timing of the Messiah’s arrival, Rabbi Kanievsky answered, “At the end of the Sabbatical year.” Several people have asked the Rabbi to verify this and he has given the same answer each time. This year is the Sabbatical year and it will be ending on the 29th day of Elul, which, by the Gregorian calendar falls on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
In answer to Rabbi Kanievsky’s call, the Jews of France have begun to arrive in Israel in blessed droves. The impetus is certainly a reaction to increasing anti-Semitic and Islamic fueled violence across Europe.
After the horrific terror attack at a Kosher market in Paris six months ago, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu urged French Jews to come home to Israel. His remarks drew criticism from some, however last week, in the wake of Ramadan violence in several countries including France, Zeev Elkin, the Israeli Minister of Immigration and Absorption, called on French Jews to make Aliyah, echoing his leader’s words.
“Come home! Anti-Semitism is growing, terrorism is on the rise and the sickly ISIS activists carry out murders in the light of day. We are prepared to accept the Jews of France with open arms,” he said.
Last year, 7,000 French Jews made aliyah to Israel, making it the number one country of origin for new immigrants. The Jewish Agency and the Ministry for Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption are expecting more than 3,000 French Jews to immigrate to Israel this summer alone, many of them families with children who want to arrive and integrate before the beginning of the school year.
It should be noted that it is considered a positive trait to always be anticipating the Messiah. The Chofetz Chaim, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Kagan, a great Torah sage, is told to have said that any time he heard a loud noise, he would say, “Perhaps the Messiah has arrived?” Similar stories have also been told of the leading Moroccan Kabbalist, the Baba Sali, Rabbi Israel Abuhaseira.
