Are You a Heat Seeker? by Ryan LeStrange

"I am calling forth the heat seekers." Those were the words that resounded in my spirit recently as I was preaching in a particular region.
What is a heat seeker?
A heat seeker is a Believer who is pressing into the fire and glory of God. The Lord told me that He is calling us forth not only to experience the fire but also to release fire upon a generation. There are deep works of the Spirit to be done by the burning ones.(Photo via Pixabay)
He is raising up a people to demonstrate the Gospel with supernatural signs and power. He wants to show Himself strong and reveal the glory of the Kingdom. The heat seekers are called to walk in supernatural favor as Abba Father reveals His nature in our lives. We must understand that along with supernatural blessing, demonstration, and power, there will come supernatural resistance as well.
By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3 AMP
In each generation there are those who receive a revelation and effectively steward it with great impact upon that generation. In this passage of Hebrews we see that generations were framed by a word! We can think of many great generals of the faith who framed their particular generation with a burning revelation. Thank God for those fathers who paid the price and carried the torch.
Now the question is, who will burn in this generation? Who will press and receive a revelation that has the power to affect an entire group of people? I am convinced that the Father wants to empower His people with faith and insight that activates His plans in the earth now! He is raising up a people that will burn with revelation and release the Kingdom.
In Exodus 3, Moses is on the mountain of God when he encounters a burning bush. From the midst of fire, the voice of the Lord spoke, calling him back to purpose. There is a desperate need in this hour for people to hear clear direction and encounter the fiery presence of God. A sense of lethargy and confusion has gripped the hearts of many.
God's voice dwells in the midst of the fire!Wood in the Bible is a symbol for humanity. I believe that we are not just to look for burning bushes but we are actually to become burning bushes for His glory! Fire consumes the sacrifice, and in Romans 12:1-2 we are told to surrender our bodies and renew our minds. As we lay our flesh upon His altar, we are consumed! (Photo via Flickr)
For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29
We are called to burn for Him and be voices of awakening. The Father desires to set regions ablaze with holy fire, but it will take surrendered ones who have been in His presence and are burning. There are heavenly plans for transformation, awakening, and outpouring, but the plans look much different than the wisdom of man. It will take those who fully yield and obey to give birth to Heaven's agenda for this hour.
But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand. When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they began saying to one another, "Undoubtedly this man is a murderer, and though he has been saved from the sea, justice has not allowed him to live." However he shook the creature off into the fire and suffered no harm. But they were expecting that he was about to swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had waited a long time and had seen nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and began to say that he was a god. Acts 28:3-6 NASB
A dangerous viper jumped out of the midst of the fire and attacked Paul. One thing that we must be aware of is the counterattacks of the enemy when we begin to advance into the fire. Paul reveals two things to us that are extremely valuable:
1. He shook it off! When we discover a spiritual attack, we should use our faith, break it, and then keep going forward. The attack comes to stop our progress. We must shake it off and move on.(Photo via Pixabay)
2. He had supernatural protection. There is no power of the enemy that is greater than the power of our King! We cannot and must not make the enemy bigger than what he is! He is a defeated foe with no power over us! As long as we dwell in the Kingdom, we will continue to enjoy victory.
It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave-girl having a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing her masters much profit by fortune-telling. Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, "These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation." She continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!" And it came out at that very moment.
But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the market place before the authorities, and when they had brought them to the chief magistrates, they said, "These men are throwing our city into confusion, being Jews, and are proclaiming customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans."
The crowd rose up together against them, and the chief magistrates tore their robes off them and proceeded to order them to be beaten with rods. When they had struck them with many blows, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to guard them securely; and he, having received such a command, threw them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. Acts 16:16-24 NASB
The Greek word divination here is translated "python." This girl was possessed by an occultic, fortune-telling demon from Hell called the python spirit. She followed Paul around as he was headed to the place of prayer.
A python is drastically different than venomous serpents because it is not a poisonous creature. Instead of destroying its prey by releasing poison, it is a calculative and deceptive hunter. The python seeks one of the most vital signs of life: heat! It looks for life and then slithers toward it without being discovered until it has already gripped its target.
Once it has its victim in its deadly grasp, it begins to squeeze. A python kills by suffocation. We know that man came alive when God breathed upon him! In the upper room as the Holy Spirit came down, He began to blow as a rushing mighty wind! The wind and breath of God represent the power and presence of His Spirit. The python spirit is an anti-anointing spirit that comes deceptively to choke the breath out! It comes to stifle and shut down the flow of God's powerful anointing. (Photo via Pixabay)
This spirit comes after the heat seekers to stop their pursuit! A python spirit is assigned to resist the moving of God's Spirit. It comes to choke out prayer. It squeezes the joy out of its victims. It creates oppression, robs energy, drains life, and empowers false spirits. Python does not hunt for dead things but living things that are full of heat (life). It comes to choke their breath and then swallow them.
Python comes after ministries to choke the life out of them. It attacks prayer meetings and prophetic ministry. It fights the move of the Spirit of God and partners with religion to create atmospheres void of presence. When python shows up it is a sign of spiritual progress and advance!
I believe that the heat seekers are arising! The regional plans of God are coming forth and a radical army of Believers is advancing. The python spirit will try to hinder, but we have too many promises and too much authority to allow it to gain a foothold. We must advance with our spiritual eyes open and carry a strong spirit of faith and authority. Bind up all false spirits and shake off their attacks. We are called to burn for Him! We are called to fuel the fires of revival and advance forward. We are called to be Heat Seekers!
