  • THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GOODLAND HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOWFALL... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM MST /MIDNIGHT CST/ THIS EVENING TO 11 PM MST /MIDNIGHT CST/ SUNDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
  • * TIMING/DURATION... MIDNIGHT TONIGHT THROUGH MIDNIGHT MONDAY.
  • * SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATIONS... WIDESPREAD 6 TO 9 INCHES OF SNOW... WITH LOCALIZED SNOW AMOUNTS OF 10 INCHES POSSIBLE.
  • * WINDS/VISIBILITY... WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH WITH VISIBILITY OF A QUARTER TO HALF A MILE EXPECTED.
  • * OTHER IMPACTS... THE HEAVY SNOWFALL WILL CREATE SNOWPACKED ROADS AND BLOWING SNOW WILL CREATE DRIFTS ACROSS AREA ROADS.

  • .A POWERFUL WINTER STORM WILL MOVE EAST OF THE ROCKIES AND ACROSS THE CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS REGION TONIGHT AND SUNDAY. AREAS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY PRECIPITATION WILL DEVELOP TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY. SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY EVENING BEFORE TAPERING OFF SUNDAY NIGHT. WIDESPREAD SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 9 INCHES IS EXPECTED IN THE WARNING AREA... WITH 3 TO 7 INCHES IN THE ADVISORY. SOME LOCALIZED SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AS HIGH AS 10 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNING AREA. WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH WILL PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WITH VISIBILITIES OF A QUARTER TO HALF A MILE.
