HIGH CALLING by Glenn Jackson

Words of Prophecy:   *       "Looking back" [in the spiritual context] speaks of one "turning back" in their heart to the "world" and its ways [fear, pride, idolatry, fear of man, self-agenda etc.]. To "abide" [be found dwelling] in the Kingdom one MUST keep their eyes "fixed" [focused clearly] on Jesus [My Word {Will}].         ...."But Jesus said to him, "No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God".... Luke 9:62 NASB         While every calling [gifting, positioning in the Body etc.] is very important, the High Calling that Paul referred to in his letter to the Philippians         ...."Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God IN Christ Jesus".... Philippians 3:13-14 NASB         refers to the calling for each and every one of us to ENTER INTO the fullness of ALL that we are IN Christ - for it is ONLY from this position that one can carry out to perfection the "calling" on their life [which includes gifting, positioning etc]. As our focus remains on Jesus [and the completeness of His "finished Work] it is certain that we will enter into the fullness of our salvation [Covenant-relationship with the Father and His Word].         So, in summarizing, the High Calling we are called to is to enter into the place of "abiding" in Christ [and all that He is] - and, in so doing, walk in the same manner in which He walked ["the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked" 1 John 2:6 NASB].         ...."But by His [the Father's] doing you are IN Christ Jesus, Who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption".... 1 Corinthians 1:30 NASB         ...."Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God".... Colossians 3:1-3 NASB         ...."And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus [the Messiah, the Anointed One]".... Ephesians 2:6 The Amplified Translation Prayer of Proclamation:                       Father, we thank You and praise You  for the "high calling" you have placed upon each one of our lives. We set ourselves [in and by the power of Your Spirit] to enter into the "fullness" of all that you have planned for us, day to day - forgetting what lies behind to diligently press in for the "prize", the precious pearl of great price, that is found IN Christ - and we declare it done in the Name of Jesus.
