What I Am Hearing From God This Thanksgiving Day by Doug Addison

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the U.S., and for our International friends my prayer for you is that you, too, will find some comfort and strength in what I am going to share.
I was about to write about the power of being grateful, but instead I’m going to write a heart-to-heart message that I am hearing from God right now.
Getting God’s view
These are very trying times for many people on the planet right now. With the terrorist attacks, dramatic weather pattern changes and widespread disasters, this is a time to trust the Lord more than ever.
We need to rise above all the negativity and see that God is loving and not judging the world. I have been releasing a lot of prophetic words recently about the fact that we are moving into a new 7-year season of blessing, repayment and revival.
God has given you what you need
What I have learned after coaching and working with thousands of people is that you have everything you need within you already. God has given you the Holy Spirit and has strategically placed people in your life.
Here are two simple things you can do to move forward:
  • Come into agreement with Heaven
  • Make a choice not to respond negatively
King David did this in 1 Samuel 30 after having everything he owned stolen by the enemy. David worshipped the Lord, got a strategy and responded positively. As a result he not only recovered, but he accelerated into his life calling.
Responding with gratitude
There will always be troubles and trials in life. It is how you respond that will dramatically change your life and those around you.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1 NIV
God’s love for you endures forever. Not just awhile or for a season but forever.
God still loves the world and has amazing plans for us. When we make a choice to rise above, get God’s perspective, agree with Heaven and respond with a plan we will find ourselves in a new level of maturity.
You can apply this to a number of situations in your life, especially at the holidays. Being around people who might stress you out and holiday shopping can add to the stress.
Instead, take a step to respond differently and be grateful for all that God is doing in your life right now.
Linda and I and the rest of my team here at InLight Connection wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
